About Us 100.7 The Light is Albury Wodonga's local Christian radio station. We began broadcasting on 28 May 2006. In 2005 the Australian Communications and Media Authority decided to issue us a Temporary Community Broadcasting Licence, which last for a maximum of 12 months. This means that to stay on air, we need to apply for a new licence every year and work toward getting a Permanent Community Broadcasting Licence. Our current license is due to expire on 20 May 2010.
100.7 The Light is run by Albury Wodonga Christian Broadcasters Incorporated, which operated Rhema FM in the 1990’s. We aren't run by any particular church or denomination and we don't have the backing of a major corporation like commercial radio stations do; our funding comes from listeners like you, and local businesses. Our actions are governed by our constitution and policies, as well as a number of laws and regulations, including the Broadcasting Services Act (1992) and the Community Broadcasters Code of Practice (2008) (also PDF).
